The humanitarian school that is helping hundreds of poor and needy children including street and abandon children is increasing daily helping more than three communities, because it is absolutely free for orphans and for children that are living in abject poverty in this part of the world, but your help will continue to sustain this good work towards the poor side of humanity. We are standing in need to pay the teachers and get school materials like papers, chalks, pencils and other school materials even for food for children that can not eat breakfast before coming to school. Your help financially and materially will make an enormous difference in the lives of poor children--preparing them for a better and brighter future.

To volunteer or support, questions and direction please write to the above address, and will come back to you. Thanks a lot for your interest towards poor and needy children, and your generous donation or support will be highly appreciated by children and their teachers. Any help will make a difference!

THE NEW MINI VAN FOR THE ORPHANAGE.
This Mini van was bought by the Mercy ship out of love and mercy for God is love Orphanage in Guinea Conakry. We suffered a lot with the old van of the Orphanage that was very old that every time we want to go out with it we must push it to start and push it to come, that is to say to and fro of any program of the orphanage we must push it . It came to a time that the van refused pushing which means beyond repair, our children at the orphanage got tired to push every day, and some times with sorry faces because they will not want to be called for pushing, i was ashamed of every time pushing since everyone in our community were provoking and laughing at us telling us that your mission not knowing we don`t have a mission or sponsor but live by faith to serve the Lord. The only means of transportation was the old van which has helped the orphanage to do a lot of good things, like rushing children to the hospital in the point of death, go to and brought back from school with the old van, so it was charged with all the works of the orphanage, humanitarian school and the local Church as well. We needed another means of transportation but didn`t know how and where to get one until God with his love used hands and heart that are willing to serve God and humanity. The Mercy ship purchase another van for the humanitarian work because they saw us in serious suffering with the van every day during the ten Month they spent in Guinea with us and others, till we named it the "Pushing Van". We will forever be grateful for your kind help Marcy Hands and hearts. Now, we only need to get into the van and start drive away, no pushing like before. Those in the community stop laughing at us, instead they felicitate us for the new van, and we tell them that God is good all the time. Thanks to all the crews on the Mercy ship, especially to our loved ones there and those that are new. We will not numerate all the names, but a special thanks to Yan Tuinier Chief Officer, my sister in Christ Sharon and her husband Tim Tretheway the Captain, Elizabeth Tuinier, Alfred the contact person God used as channel to met all these nice people, Daniel, Herma, Lynne, Karen and many others. I am so sorry because i cannot retain names easily, poor memory with anxiety how to feed and take care off all the work of the ministry, orphans, church and school. May He God continue to bless the Mercy ship with all blessings in the heavenly places through Christ our Lord. Amen.
In Christ,
Michael Kargbo

house rent paid
We don`t know what we could have done without the Mercy ship to pay our house rent that house orphaned children. It was not easy at all for us to pay this huge amount, in fact, we had sleepless night at times of just thinking how we could pay annually. This is our second year in this house, the first year before we entered the building as tenant it was an unimaginable suffering we went through to pay for the many children which reduce us to begging not to suffer like the past experiences we had for lodging. The Africa Mercy ( MERCY SHIP) has helped us took away our stress and anxiety for an amount we cannot afford as a needy orphanage. The Ship is called and known as the MERCY SHIP or the AFRICA MERCY, a little girl who was sometime on the ship called it my Mercy box, because of the unconditional love they have shown to us with a humble and christlike spirit we called the ship our Mercy hands (a ship with hands). The Mercy hands show us Christ love for the poor and needy throughout their useful stay in Guinea helping many others in distress, sickness and afflictions--making Christ known better to unbelievers by following His footsteps with good actions. God is Love Orphanage in Guinea will be forever grateful infinitely. The Mercy hands in Guinea has made a tremendous difference in our local Church, humanitarian school for poor and needy kids, and above all helped feed, lodge and educate our orphans at the orphanage. Christ says let your light shine that men will see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven. "Not the ship that matters most, but the people working on the ship--making a difference." Michael Kargbo.

We Have a Home
Wow, Wow, Wow!
What can we say?
When we last wrote we had just 14% of the annual rent.
Today we sit here amazed at God's love and abundance on our lives.
Today we heard that the crew on the Mercy Ship had taken up an offering which has completed the total needed to keep our home for another year with some left over to fix our van.
Thank you so much to all who have given so generously, words cannot express how we feel but we are eternally grateful for your gift.

Getting Ready for Easter
Today the mercy team started getting us prepared for Easter.
We started off with some singing then we were told about the story of the disciples preparing for the passover meal. Just as the disciples went out and found a man who led them to the upper room, we also transformed our front room into the upper room. Some kids laid out the paper table cloth, others put out plates, cups, flat bread and juice to represent wine. Just looking at it all laid out built up our excitement.
We also learnt how Jesus served others by becoming a servant himself and washing the disciples feet. We had to imagine if the President of Guinea came to our house and started cleaning we would be very surprised and this is just like what Jesus did, He wanted to serve and He did this so we can learn from it and serve others. When we all looked at our feet, they were VERY dirty and smelly and so we all served each other by washing each others feet then rubbing some really nice smelling lotion. Some people had very tickly feet, others just sat back and relaxed.
The team then told us about the sort of food that is eaten at a passover meal and what they represent and we got to make our own passover plate.
We learnt a lot and look forward to hearing more about what happened during Easter.
We are also missing our Dutch friends that left recently, they did so much for us and we even got to go to their Dental site and they looked at our teeth and made them better.
Unfortunately we were unable to say goodbye to them because there was trouble in the area and people couldn't get to us, but they have left their hearts here. Today we were given the bibles that they so kindly bought for us. This is such a special gift. Some of us just sat their hugging them,
others started flipping through the pages
Thank you so much...it means a lot!

God Please Bless Us Abundantly!
It's amazing that we are already in the month of March, this year seems to be flying by very quickly. As we see April approaching quickly we are on our knees in prayer, asking God to bless us abundantly with finances to pay for the yearly rent.
Here in Guinea we pay the house rent by the year and in April we are due our yearly payment of $3500 (24 million Guinea Francs). Could you be God's answer to our prayers? Could you consider giving up your lunch money for one day towards our rent, even holding a fundraising event or pray the finances in with us? Your support would be valuable to us.

A Lost Sheep!
This week the Mercy Ships team dressed up to tell the story of the lost sheep. About a good shepherd that noticed that one of his sheep was missing and he did everything to find that 1 lost sheep.
After the story we coloured in a name plate that is going to be stuck in the front of a bible that they are going to give to us. Imagine that, our own bible, just for us.
Lots of changes are going on here, we are finally having a well dug in our yard, we look forward to breaking through to water. The walls have been painted and the Mercy team have built some shelving so we will be able to have somewhere to store our clothes off the floor. We continued to be blessed by God in so many ways.

A Day at the Park
Last weekend the Mercy Team invited us to join them at the playground. Near the People's Palace is the "Jardin 2 Octobre" where there are lots of things to climb and investigate. The kids had a great time exploring and experiencing some new things.
They swung on the swings
They climbed up the climbing walls
Then the treat that gave BIG Smiles was the space ship fairground ride.
The team brought a huge picnic of sandwiches, crisps, cakes, cookies and nice cold water. Then when it came to the end of a special day we got dressed up again and did one of our African dances for them.
Of course we had to end with a group photo...
A great day was had by all, both big and small!
Of course we had to end with a group photo...
...and the "silly face" shot always gives us a laugh.
A great day was had by all, both big and small!

Christmas Came to Us
Christmas came to the God is Love Orphanage this year.
Each week running up to Christmas, the Mercy Ships team shared the Christmas story and we made this great nativity set which we proudly displayed in our front room to remind us of the meaning of this special time of year. We had shepherds, wise men, angels, camels, donkeys, baby Jesus, you name it, it was there and each one was made with care by our children.
But it didn't stop there. They also came laden with gifts, what a HUGE blessing. The kids could never have imagined getting so much. You should have seen how big their eyes were. Each child had a wrapped present, including things like teddies, books, crayons, keyrings and christmas cookies.
Opening presents
the oohs & the aahs that went with the ripping of paper!
studying their gifts
Even our littlest one nearly got wrapped up in a box
and Mikeila got a comfortable beanbag
Celebrating the gifts God gives us!
