We Have a Home

Wow, Wow, Wow!

What can we say?

When we last wrote we had just 14% of the annual rent.
Today we sit here amazed at God's love and abundance on our lives.
Today we heard that the crew on the Mercy Ship had taken up an offering which has completed the total needed to keep our home for another year with some left over to fix our van.

Thank you so much to all who have given so generously, words cannot express how we feel but we are eternally grateful for your gift.

Getting Ready for Easter

Today the mercy team started getting us prepared for Easter.
We started off with some singing then we were told about the story of the disciples preparing for the passover meal.  Just as the disciples went out and found a man who led them to the upper room, we also transformed our front room into the upper room.  Some kids laid out the paper table cloth, others put out plates, cups, flat bread and juice to represent wine.  Just looking at it all laid out built up our excitement.
We also learnt how Jesus served others by becoming a servant himself and washing the disciples feet. We had to imagine if the President of Guinea came to our house and started cleaning we would be very surprised and this is just like what Jesus did, He wanted to serve and He did this so we can learn from it and serve others.  When we all looked at our feet, they were VERY dirty and smelly and so we all served each other by washing each others feet then rubbing some really nice smelling lotion.  Some people had very tickly feet, others just sat back and relaxed.
The team then told us about the sort of food that is eaten at a passover meal and what they represent and we got to make our own passover plate.
We learnt a lot and look forward to hearing more about what happened during Easter.

We are also missing our Dutch friends that left recently, they did so much for us and we even got to go to their Dental site and they looked at our teeth and made them better.
Unfortunately we were unable to say goodbye to them because there was trouble in the area and people couldn't get to us, but they have left their hearts here.  Today we were given the bibles that they so kindly bought for us. This is such a special gift.  Some of us just sat their hugging them,
others started flipping through the pages
Thank you so much...it means a lot!

God Please Bless Us Abundantly!

It's amazing that we are already in the month of March, this year seems to be flying by very quickly.  As we see April approaching quickly we are on our knees in prayer, asking God to bless us abundantly with finances to pay for the yearly rent.

Here in Guinea we pay the house rent by the year and in April we are due our yearly payment of $3500 (24 million Guinea Francs).  Could you be God's answer to our prayers?  Could you consider giving up your lunch money for one day towards our rent, even holding a fundraising event or pray the finances in with us?  Your support would be valuable to us.

A Lost Sheep!

This week the Mercy Ships team dressed up to tell the story of the lost sheep.  About a good shepherd that noticed that one of his sheep was missing and he did everything to find that 1 lost sheep.
After the story we coloured in a name plate that is going to be stuck in the front of a bible that they are going to give to us.  Imagine that, our own bible, just for us.
Lots of changes are going on here, we are finally having a well dug in our yard, we look forward to breaking through to water.  The walls have been painted and the Mercy team have built some shelving so we will be able to have somewhere to store our clothes off the floor.  We continued to be blessed by God in so many ways.

A Day at the Park

Last weekend the Mercy Team invited us to join them at the playground.  Near the People's Palace is the "Jardin 2 Octobre" where there are lots of things to climb and investigate.  The kids had a great time exploring and experiencing some new things.
They swung on the swings
They slid down the slides
They climbed up the climbing walls
Then the treat that gave BIG Smiles was the space ship fairground ride.
The team brought a huge picnic of sandwiches, crisps, cakes, cookies and nice cold water.  Then when it came to the end of a special day we got dressed up again and did one of our African dances for them.

Of course we had to end with a group photo...
...and the "silly face" shot always gives us a laugh.

A great day was had by all, both big and small!
