A Lost Sheep!
This week the Mercy Ships team dressed up to tell the story of the lost sheep. About a good shepherd that noticed that one of his sheep was missing and he did everything to find that 1 lost sheep.
After the story we coloured in a name plate that is going to be stuck in the front of a bible that they are going to give to us. Imagine that, our own bible, just for us.
Lots of changes are going on here, we are finally having a well dug in our yard, we look forward to breaking through to water. The walls have been painted and the Mercy team have built some shelving so we will be able to have somewhere to store our clothes off the floor. We continued to be blessed by God in so many ways.

A Day at the Park
Last weekend the Mercy Team invited us to join them at the playground. Near the People's Palace is the "Jardin 2 Octobre" where there are lots of things to climb and investigate. The kids had a great time exploring and experiencing some new things.
They swung on the swings
They climbed up the climbing walls
Then the treat that gave BIG Smiles was the space ship fairground ride.
The team brought a huge picnic of sandwiches, crisps, cakes, cookies and nice cold water. Then when it came to the end of a special day we got dressed up again and did one of our African dances for them.

Of course we had to end with a group photo...

A great day was had by all, both big and small!

...and the "silly face" shot always gives us a laugh.

Christmas Came to Us
Christmas came to the God is Love Orphanage this year.
Each week running up to Christmas, the Mercy Ships team shared the Christmas story and we made this great nativity set which we proudly displayed in our front room to remind us of the meaning of this special time of year. We had shepherds, wise men, angels, camels, donkeys, baby Jesus, you name it, it was there and each one was made with care by our children.
But it didn't stop there. They also came laden with gifts, what a HUGE blessing. The kids could never have imagined getting so much. You should have seen how big their eyes were. Each child had a wrapped present, including things like teddies, books, crayons, keyrings and christmas cookies.
Opening presents
the oohs & the aahs that went with the ripping of paper!
studying their gifts
Even our littlest one nearly got wrapped up in a box
and Mikeila got a comfortable beanbag
Celebrating the gifts God gives us!

People of Mercy
We are currently having great fun with a team from the Mercy Ship, M/V Africa Mercy, that is docked in Conakry. Each Saturday they load up their landrovers and come prepared with games, songs, stories and crafts. The kids look forward to seeing them each week. Not only that, they are trying to help us in other ways which we will tell you about at a later date. Meanwhile here are a few pictures of the Mercy Ships team at work or play!
Team games-always lots of fun!
Lots of actions to go with the songs
Story time
The crafts are starting to brighten up the place and making it look like a proper children's home!
